Find the Perfect Gift - Part 4 The Timing

Welcome to part 4 of our Finding the perfect gift series, have you read parts 1-3 yet? If not, why not!?!? Just kidding, it seems everyone I know these days are super busy so just to have a chance and sit down and read your favourite gift giving blog is a treat (thanks for taking the time by the way!) Time is precious to us all, and time is also the subject of Part 4 of our blog series.

Finding the perfect gift: Choosing the right time to give it!

An old proverb says: “A word spoken at the right time - how good it is!” I am sure we would all agree, but changing it slightly “A gift given at the right time - how good that is!” Think about it, the weather is getting colder in many places now and you may have had your eye on a nice coat which your friend knows about. They tell you they’ve bought a present and then surprise you with that summer swimming costume you always wanted… fail. Then comes summer and your friend finally gifts you that winter coat. Walking around the streets of Hong Kong in 40c heat wearing a full duck down jacket is probably not the best idea. The timing of our gift is sometimes just as important as the gift itself.

Are you looking out for opportunities to give your friends and family the right gift at the right time? For example, A friend is getting married. A youth is soon to graduate from school. A married couple is expecting a baby. These are but a few of the many occasions for which gifts are often given. Some find it practical to keep a list of such special events that will take place in the coming year. In this way, they can plan ahead for the gift that would be best for each occasion.
