The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) situated at Wan Chai North, which is the most important exhibition venue in Hong Kong since its opening. Its New Wing opened in 1997 is even a international famous landmark. Since the advanced location and facilities of HKCEC, lot of large functions were held here, including the Hong Kong Handover Ceremony in 1997 and Sixth WTO Ministerial Conference in 2005, and also the periodically Book Fair, Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong, HKTDC Food Expo and large Auctions, attract many local and universal visitors from around the world to visit. After the completion of the second expansion in 2009, there are almost 100,000 sq.m venue in current HKCEC: HKCEC features Office Tower and Serviced apartment (Conventional Plaza), and also connected to Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong. It constructs a series of business and lodging services.

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) situated at Wan Chai North Reclaimed land, Hong Kong Island, which is constructed and owned by Hong Kong Government, and managed by Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML). HML is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NWS Holdings Ltd. Since its high-quality venues, it was voted "Best Convention and Exhibition Centre in Asia" conducted by CEI Asia Magazine and "Best Convention & Exhibition Centre”in "TTG Travel Awards" for several times.
The first phase of HKCEC located at 1 Harbour Road and opened in November 1988, providing Conventional Hall, Theatres, Halls and Meeting Rooms. Centre attach Serviced apartment (Conventional Plaza) and Office Tower, and also connect to Grand Hyatt Hotel and Renaissance Harbour View Hotel.
The second phase of HKCEC located on an artificial island outside the first phase, usually called new wing, which is opened in 1997.
The first phase of HKCEC locate at Wan Chai North, which was situated at waterfront. It was the first venue constructed for convention and exhibition, providing Convention Hall, 2 Theatres , 4 Halls and 19 Meeting Rooms. Since the increasing demand and saturating facilities, the two main expansions were carried out.
The second phase (HKCEC new wing) opened in 1997 was completely constructed on the artificial island outside the original HKCEC building. The facility of New Wing include a Grand Hall with over 4,000 person capacity, several new Halls and meeting rooms. The total venue area more than doubled. The Atrium Expansion finished in 2009, rebuilding the sky bridge above the atrium to be exhibition halls, fused with original Phase One and New Wing. The construction provides extra venue, more large trading exhibition can hence be held.
HKCEC is now providing 6 storey (G/F-L5) venue with over 100,000 sq.m. area.
The Convention Hall with 1,819 sq.m. located on L1, which can separated in to 3 halls if necessary, mainly used for holding large banquet. Theatre 1 and Theatre 2 are also located on L1, which can contain 637 and 336 persons respectively. Located on L3, 3,880-sqm Grand Hall can accommodate over 4,000 spectators. With its 408-sqm. stage and 27m-ceiling, commonly used for large meetings, cultural events, concerts, the Handover Ceremony in 1997 was also performed here.
There are total 16 Halls located on L1, L3 and L5, which can be used in combination in major exhibitions. Which the Hall in L1 (Hall 1) provides 19,890 sq.m. venue, which is the largest exhibition and performance venue in Hong Kong at present.
Besides, HKCEC houses totally 45 Meeting Rooms, which can accommodate 28-600 people respectively. Cooperate with adjoining hotels and traffic facilities, providing international standard conference venue.
